Jindabyne Dam on the
Snowy River. In the last decade, the reservoir has been maintained at about 60 to 80% full. The larger percentage gives a volume of 550 GL which is similar to
Sydney Harbour. Each year between 100 and 300 GL is pumped out of the lake to reach the
Murray River and its irrigation schemes. Environmental flows of 118 GL will released for the water year ending in April 2020.
A 3 km foreshore walk and cycleway has picturesque
views. More cycle tracks are being constructed.
