Information
Seymour is a town of around 6,000 people, now bypassed by the Hume Highway and located on the banks of the Goulburn River. It is the nearest town to the Puckapunyal Army Base so is a garrison town, and has been for many years.
In an area adjacent to the main street Seymour, civic authorities have built a tribute to the service people who served in Vietnam. It comprises a selection of military equipment and a glass wall that records the name of all Vietnam participants including dogs. The names are listed against a background of pictures of military action. There are also specific tributes to those who have won citations such as the Victoria Cross.
