Large open
camping area with sites suitable for all visitors to
Girraween National Park, including specifically dedicated sites for larger family/friend groups and/or persons with disabilities (PWD).
Castle Rock camping area has semi-grassed and semi-shaded sites suitable for tents, camper trailers, small caravans and motorhomes. When booking, you must choose either a tent, camper trailer/caravan site, one of three larger trailer sites or one of the two dedicated PWD sites (conditions apply). Sites are not numbered and available on a first come basis. Can be reached by conventional vehicle. A number of walk tracks are nearby.
Surface area is hard decomposed
granite soil, dirt, grass. Facilities include shower cubicle (BYO shower and water),
toilets, unfiltered water (treat before drinking) and communal picnic tables and wood barbecues. The
Castle Rock camping area main amenities block has wheelchair access, and the PWD facilities have a
toilet and shower cubicle (byo portable shower and water). As rubbish
bins are not provided you must take your rubbish with you when you leave. There are no powered sites.
Open fires permitted in QPWS barbecues only, except when fire bans are in place. Generators not permitted. No dogs permitted.
