It's home, now it will be just known as TONI, as it's no longer a project or work in progress, it lives and breathes, Heeee Haa.

Insurance Co (AAMI) is happy with it as is the RTA as they issued our new rego papers yesterday and we fitted the new compliance plate.

Drove over to Stefan P & Boldjack tonight and they are very impressed with it.

We are going out on fathers day for a bit of a workout and then I will post a members gathering soon to really try it out.

Thanks to you all for your positive support throughout this ordeal, we (Er Indoors & I) took a great deal of strength from you all, and it helped when at times we were a bit down.

Thanks to Jason Dymock at:
Total Care 4WD Seven Hills NSW 02 98389779
for your genius that made it all happen.
Cheers all Colin.

Colin,

The offer price goes down now it is no longer a 'project'. Still there though.

Great news, hope it is all you want it to be. Time to enjoy it, rather than fret over it now.

Cheers,

Matt.

Ha Ha Ha, the kids call it the Mongrel, but they were impressed all the same.

In fact thinking about it some of the best dogs I have had were mongrel's and most were great dogs.

Great to hear Colin its on the road. Will be hanging to see it. I think you will get sick of lifting the bonnet eveytime some one sees you (like myself lol). Will be interesting if the mag wants a follow up, hopefully they come good and do what they offered. Jason is a brilliant mechanic and having had work done by him myself before would recomend him to anyone and his business name is him all over (Total Care). All the best and speak to you later. (already replied to Stefans pm so Stefan ignore my questions as they have been answered above). Regards Steve M

See my MM, and sorry about calling you Michael, i got you mixed up with someone else, am I forgiven, it's the excitement of having a car that I have to climb into rather than squat to get into (thats the car we have been using while TONI was off the road) Cheers Colin.

Hi Colin,
Congratulations on getting TONI on the road. Wishing you and the family many happy and safe travels. I'm sure you have a smile wider than the guy in the early Patrol GU TV ads...

Or are you not game to put a figure on it....

It's hard to tell precisely because I have made other mods to the car as well, IE: EGT gauge, changed the dual battery setup, etc. but I would say the total for the transplant would be $25000 MAX.

that includes initial towing, engineers report and weighbridge, electrician, all minor bits and pieces, motor assembly, labour, motor trimmer, everything.

I now have a great vehicle that has a 25000km heart in a tough Nissan chassis that will serve us for many years to come.
Cheers, Colin.

I am compelled to say this.

Congratulations guys.
This project has transcended the age old US - THEM thing. No Nissan nuts complaning about spoiling the breed, no Toyota guys rubbing salt into the wounds, none of that at all, just all positive comments.

I have been lucky enough to have been the receiver of support from both camps and then some, all have been great with NO dissent from anyone (well nearly, from one only) I am proud to call you guys mates.
Cheers, Colin.

Colin,

Congrats mate.

I have picked up on a number of projects like this, people doing things that I wish I had the guts to try, only to be dissapointed when either they didn't work or I never did hear how it worked out.

Thanks for keeping us up to date, and giving some feedback on the outcome.

Looking forward to the get together so we can see it in the flesh.

Umm... I thought the saying was "...if Mohammed won't go to the mountain, then the mountain must go to Mohammed..."

You gotta admit that while 430Nm of torque from a 4.2TD is great, 650Nm from a TTD V8 is greater, thus "King of the Mountain" ;)

Would love to come across, but a small thing called work always gets in the way :( Hope to meet up some day, somewhere!

Cheers mate

Captain
