unable to load image in Ozi for Android

G'day. Been trying to swap over to Ozi Android for field use but am having trouble loading maps. I calibrate an image in Ozi on my pc but when opening the .map file on my Samsung tablet running Android 9 I get an error message 'Unable to load image'. Screen grab is attached, as is the .map file. The image file is a 2.5 MB png file and it loads fine on my pc.
Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance. Rob

Ozi grab.jpg downloads as a .map file named Ozi_grab_jpg.map.

I tried changing the extension to .jpg and also to .png, but neither worked on my Win10 PC with any of the graphics progs I have. All reported some kind of header error or file corruption or file format not recognised.

That's an idea Frank. I'll convert the image to another format and calibrate that. Just to clarify, did you change the file extension without changing the file format?

I presumed that Ozi grab.jpg was supposed to be a screenshot and therefore would be an image of some sort. So I just changed the extension.

I did not try to change the file format.

You're right, the image file I attached was just a screen grab. I'm now attaching the actual image file that Ozi is meant to use.

From the Ozi for Android website:
"The image formats jpg and png (small maps less than 20MBytes uncompressed) are also supported but are fully loaded into memory so the images must be small and only 8bit and 24bit color formats are supported. It is highly recommended maps in jpg and png format are converted to OZF4 using the Img2Ozf conversion software."

And second suggestion, have you Indexed the maps after adding the file?
Main Menu --- Operation ---- Map ---- Index Maps

As Phil mentioned PNG files really need to be converted to .ozfx format for speedy and reliable opening in OziExplorer for Android.

I have attached your map sourced from my existing collection. Unzip the 2 files and Ozi will open the map.

Regardless of the actual format of the file containing the map image, its name must be exactly the same as in the third line of the .map file.

Thanks everybody, you've answered my questions and solved my problem. I can now load my files on my tablet as long as they're in ozf format. I don't understand why png image files didn't load but that's not important to know. I was testing them for someone else, whom I'll now advise to stick to ozf format.
All good and thanks again.
