The Garfish
This is a surface feeding fish with a slender, bony complexion. Commonly targeted for both food and bait, they can be found in bays, estuaries and coastal waters. They are attracted to shallow flats with grassy sea beds.

Eating a Garfish
Garfish are small and very tasty. Flesh is
grey in colour, medium to moist with soft to medium texture and very fine flakes. There is a hint of sweetness in the delicate flavour. Small quantities of garfish are usually sold for sashimi.
