Hello everyone,
I've been googling away with no luck, as I'm finding conflicting information. Anyone here know if we can traverse and explore the former Lorna Glen / Earaheedy stations (Matuwa Kurrara Kurrara National Park)?

I don't think you can since they handed it over to the locals. The camping site on Wiki was removed some years ago now.

The DBCA at Kalgoorlie 08 9080 5555 were the mob that gave us permission when we visited several years ago. I would give them a ring.

Not much out there but interesting countryside and a lot of fencing for the animals that they were trying to bring back. One area we had to avoid as it held some sacred significance.

We drove out the back way onto the Gunbarrel, crossed the Gunbarrel and down onto the GCR.

We never got out to Earaheedy. The locals were having some sort of gathering out there and we were advised to stay away.

I would be interested in how you go.

Hi Rowdy,
I got an answer from DBCA about this NP...as follows:

"Matuwa Kurrara Kurrara NP is a place of very significant cultural value to the Wiluna Martu, who are the Traditionals Owners of the area. The Martu are currently working with the department, under a joint management agreement, in mapping cultural values, including song lines and cultural sites, across the park. This will lead to some form of zonation within the park and identification of areas and routes which the Martu would like to share with visitors. In the interim, we are unfortunately, unable to receive visitors until we have signage and systems in place to ensure visitor safety and provision of appropriate opportunities for exploring the landscape. "

So that will be a "no" to us exploring the land.
