Lorna Glen Convservation Reserve (known to local Aboriginal people as Matuwa)is a former pastoral lease of about 160km NE of
Wiluna. The Western Australian Government acquired Lorna Glen Station in 2000, and it is now managed jointly by the Dept of Environment & Conservation (DEC) and the
Wiluna Aboriginal community for conservation and cultural purposes. Tourists may request a visit and may
camp in the bunkhouse if it is available, or
camp on the lawns of the
homestead, managed by resident caretakers Bruce & Kay Withnell however advance bookings are required to ensure your visit does not clash with visiting DEC research parties (which are frequent). Camping is also available elsewhere on the property. A number of excellent drive routes are available for visitors to enjoy the historic
ruins of wells and and station points. These have not been restored, but signs have been erected to provide historical information. This is an active fauna/flora rehabilitation environment so visitors must respect and heed all DEC guidelines regarding your access and use of the station property.
