A small to medium sized tree. True bright green leaves with nectaries prominent along the central rib of each leaf. Young/small branched have a ribbed appearance. Large infloresences of bright yellow balls at the ends of branches make a brilliant display.
Flowering start in August and ends in September.

Uses
Widely cultivated and occasionally naturalised. It is cultivated throughout Australia and the world, and has naturalised in most Australian states and in Africa, the Americas, Europe, New Zealand and the Pacific, the Indian Ocean area, and Japan. The bark is used for tanning.
