The complete MundAl trek commences in Mundaring and weaves 900km all the way to
Albany bypassing the main roads and instead passes through sections of the Munda Biddi cycling track, farmland, and forestry areas. This Trek
Denmark to
Albany is part of a series of short
treks that make up the complete MundAl Track. This part covers the route from
Denmark to
Albany and is the 6th and final trek in the series.
Please refer to the list of Nearby ExplorOz
Treks at the bottom of this page for the additional trek notes that you will need for the preceding route sections.
This section of the route is complicated and passes through the
Denmark Catchment
State Forest. Where the route heads east from the
Denmark - Mount
Barker Rd along Centre Break Rd, you'll notice the route no longer follows the course of the road however the track is shown on our
EOTopo maps so make sure you have them installed and you'll be able to see the track as you drive. Once you turn south at
Hay River the waypoints retain the original numbering as provided by the WA 4WD Association download as we cannot yet verify the correct road name junctions. Further south and the track you'll be driving along will not even appear on
EOTopo maps until you reach Hunwick Road but you will have a heading and waypoint markers to clarify the direction of travel you should be following. This section of the route file will be updated as soon as we can obtain better position data. Once you turn east onto Hunwick Rd, the routing follows the track path once again as you travel through the timber
reserves.
Along this route you will have access to a range of accommodation encompassing everything from hotels, motels, B&Bs, regulated camping and bush camping.
Please note the additional information provided in the Preparation section below and be aware that will need to be on the look out for other
recreation users including cyclists and hikers.
