The Archers Crossing
Camp Ground is a
Free Camp on the Banks of the
Condamine river.
It was created by the
Chinchilla fishing Club in conjunction with the
Chinchilla Shire Council (which is now part of the Western Downs Regional Council). There is a formed and authorised
boat ramp with several picnic tables and rubbish
bins located there.
The area has no ammenities, power or potable water. It is access via 4km of formed gravel roads with the remainer sealed.
Access from the
Warrego highway is as follows:
Turn South from the
Warrego Highway onto the
Chinchilla-Kogan Rd (double lane bitumen), after 4km cross the
Condamine River (single lane
bridge, north bound traffic to give way). After 8km from the Intersection with
Warrego highway turn right onto Hopelands School Road (Single lane bitumen).
After 2.1km turn right onto Archers Crossing Rd (Formed Gravel Rd), at 4.0km cross
grid. At 4.2km arrive at Archers Crossing
Camp Ground.
