The West Branch
camping area is one of 4
camp grounds in the Mt Moffatt section of the
Carnarvon National Park and is found along the main circuit drive. 4WD access only. Suitable for high clearance camper trailers and offroad caravans but no buses.
It's a peaceful
camping area in a shady woodland beside the Maranoa River that is abundant with birdlife.
Facilities are limited to tap water, a pit
toilet and communal fire rings. It is recommended that all water obtained from here is boiled before consumption.
The Great
Carnarvon Walk starts from here with good signage and a lovely
suspension bridge.
