Just concrete shells remain.

Camping is no longer allowed but this is a great spot to have a picnic and explore.

St Vigeon Station derives its name from Mt Saint Vigeon which was named in 1914 by Surveyor Chrisp. A derivative of the St Vigeon name was first used for a pastoral property in 1923 when reference was made to a "St Vigeans Spring" which was deemed to be a spring near to where a station homestead was erected. A Grazing Licence over an area of 1400 square miles was granted under the station name "St Vidgeon".

St Vidgeon Homestead Ruins portray a story of hardship in the outback. The ruins are the most recent of three homesteads built since 1888. The first was destroyed by floods, the second by white ants and fire and this one, built in 1960, by a cyclone.. Below the homestead ruins is a beautiful lagoon fed by the flood waters of the Roper River. This large water-lily covered lagoon is a haven for birdlife. From here to Roper River Bar the road follows the South bank of the Roper River and has many fishing spots along its length.
