Drive the Northern Lakes loop from Happy Valley to Poyungan Rocks to reach this lake. It is only 9 km from the coast but the track is rough with many tree roots and you will not want to exceed 20 kmh for much of the drive. The QPWS brochure warned of tree falls blocking the track and sure enough this happened and it took 30 mins to snatch it clear.
