This is a 1 km long, lower energy beach with sand flats extending 3 km offshore. In addition the sand that moves around the cape continues along the beach as recurved spits, which periodically move northwards enclosing a small ‘lagoon’ between the spit and the beach. The nature, width and length of the beach depend upon the presence of the spits. Vegetated
bluff back the beach deposits and a vehicle track reaching the top of the bluffs above the cape, called the
Peron Hills.
