Burke and Wills camped here on 23/1/1861. The actual locations as per Wills diary entries are missing. For the last 12 days of January Wills only made two entries. What we know is that it was still very hot 44C, and there was no mention of rain. So we can conclude that the wet season that year was later than usual.
