Information

The picturesque Echo Camp was originally noted in 1898 by the prospector W.B.Greenwood when he discovered the route into the rugged mountains to the north. The camp was used on many occasions by Sir Douglas Mawson in later years and the location was even utilized as a base camp for The Manhattan Project in 1944.

To visit, you can drive via 4WD but you must enquire at Arkaroola for details. You will need to pay for a key to gain access.
