Yarrangobilly Caves are situated in the northern part of Kosciuszko NP.
Access is via 6K of good gravel off the
Snowy Mountains Hwy. The access road is one way for the most part, so you exit
the caves via a different road to way you come in. You come out a bit further south along the highway.
There are excellent flushing toilets adjacent to the visitors' centre. Provisions are available from a
well-stocked
shop in the visitors' centre.
Very spectacular country all around. Self-guided
cave tour ($13 per person for adults, in addition to $3 per vehicle park use fee) is quite good and takes less than 30 min. You emerge above the
carpark from which you most likely started.
Note that there is no town of Yarrangobilly, just a locality, so we were fortunate to have fuelled up in
Adaminaby. Nothing (I know of) at
Kiandra, either.
