Falls in a
rock ampitheatre, rough foot track from carpark.
From the carpark, The signs lead you down the path to the base of the waterfalls. Two routes are available to take, the longer route is a 60 minute return walk that takes you through the forest along the river, and meets up with the shorter track just before it descends to the waterfalls. The shorter route is 20 minutes return from the carpark, and becomes a very tricky walk down to the base of the waterfall. The region is very rocky, and the path is made up steps made of loose
rock. Care must be taken to navigate down the track.
The base of the
falls is almost entirely made up of huge rocks, making it very easy to pick a spot, and sit down to enjoy the scenery. At the base of Hardings
Falls, you are presented with a small gorge, that has some smaller tiers that can be accessed upstream.

Access to Hardings
Falls is from McKay's Road, which is an old Forestry Road (also known as the M Road). You must first make your way to Old Coach Road, which is an unsealed Rd, beginning near the township of Royal George, and meanders southwards towards the Tasman Highway. From Old Coach Road, Forestry Signs will direct you to Hardings
Falls, or to Meetus
Falls, which are some 35km's down McKays Road in the opposite direction to Harding's
Falls. The road's are unsealed, and though can be navigated with a standard vehicle, a 4WD may be required in wetter conditions.
If you're planning a day trip to the region, you could easily see Lost
Falls, Meetus
Falls, and then continue onto Hardings
Falls.
