Just fifteen minutes south of
Wauchope towers Old Bottlebutt, the southern hemisphere's largest Red Bloodwood. At 51 metres tall, the record-holding tree is estimated to be over 200 years old and has an incredible girth at its base of just over 16 metres!
You can find this incredible piece of natural history via the Old Bottlebutt Walking Track. It’s a ‘must see’ if you’re visiting the Mid North Coast!
Walking track
The Old Bottlebutt Walking Track wanders through the rainforest in a 600m loop. Cross creeks and step over footbridges to reach the spectacular viewing platform for Old Bottlebutt. The area features a timber viewing deck, seating and interpretive signage for the comfort and information of visitors.
Picnic Spot
Just before the Old Bottlebutt Walking Track there is a lovely picnic area. The area is sheltered and features picnic tables and amentities, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy refreshments in the natural surrounds of the Burrawan
State Forest.
