Lady Nelson Wharf - named after the ship 'The Lady Nelson' in which Surveyor-General, John Oxley sailed in to the area to explore and take soundings in 1819. The 'The Lady Nelson' was also one of the three ships that arrived on 17 April 1821 under Captain Allman, with convicts and soldiers of the 48th Regiment to start a penal settlement at Port Macquarie.

This new wharf was constructed at the same site as the original wharf’s built in the 1820’s and 1830’s and will be a heritage item for future generations. It is an icon of the Town Green and can be used by private and public boats and is a popular spot for fishing at sunset.
