ExplorOz Newsletter - Issue 17

3rd October, 2001. In this issue: New Treks Notes - Kalumburu Trek and Mitchell Plateau, New Shop Items, Menu Navigation, Trek Changes and Travel Diary.

Dear ExplorOz.com site user,

What's new at ExplorOz? Lots! New treks, Michelle & David's comprehensive travel diary now available (across & around Australia), changes to the treks, and new additions to the shop. Take a look...

New Treks
Kalumburu trek
Mitchell Plateau
The ExplorOz team has just added 2 new treks equalling 63 treks now on the ExplorOz site! Converted from Michelle & David's travel diary, the Kalumburu and Mitchell Plateau treks are excellent treks covering access/permits/facilities/preparation and detailed track notes. The new treks make for great reading and are a must for travellers of the far north Kimberley.
New Shop Items
Shop for ChristmasSome new titles have been added to the Adventure Shop. 2 new titles are under the $20 mark and are excellent value. Purchase them for yourself or as a gift. The new titles include: Bush Tucker Man $49, Outback Cooking in the Camp Oven $18.60, Victoria - Off the Beaten Track $18.90 and Outback Highways $22.95.
Menu Navigation
Changes to top menuTo make navigating around the site easier, we've changed the top menu of the ExplorOz site. Treks are easier to access and we've altered the grouping under each menu item to make it more logical. Our "Hot Topics" menu item replaces our "Features" section and is the place to watch with additions planned in the next months.
Trek Changes
Mud map changesLooked at the treks lately? You'll notice a few changes particularly to each trek's mud map. We've standardised the maps so they're consistent in look and feel and are easier to read. Don't forget - if the mud map doesn't give you the detail you need, check the Resources list at the top of the trek for ExplorOz's map sources.
Travel Diary
Daily travel diaryMichelle & David have now added their extensive Travel Diary notes to the site - written over a 3 year period from 1998 to today. The Travel Diary has formed the backbone of most of the treks and is personal insight into day-to-day outback travel. The ExplorOz Travel Diary makes for excellent, informal reading and the level of detail is a 4WDer's dream. Read on...
