This blog (amended 30th March, 2017 by MOD) is to advise you of the Woomera Prohibited Area Exclusion Periods for the 2017/18 financial year.
WOOMERA PROHIBITED AREA (WPA) AMBER AND GREEN ZONE EXCLUSION PERIODS FOR FINANCIAL YEAR 2017-18.
Exclusion period notification for non-Defence users;
Access to the Woomera Prohibited Area (WPA) is subject to exclusion periods during which the Department of Defence may undertake the testing of war materiel. For safety and security reasons, designated zones within the WPA will be closed and you may be required to evacuate the area during the notified exclusion periods.

Amber Zone South-Eastern Corner (Defence Periodic Use Zone 1).
(1) 1 July – 14 July 2017
(2) 29 October – 9 December 2017
(3) 25 February – 31 March 2018
(4) 13 May – 30 June 2018
Amber Zone Centre-line Corridor (Defence Periodic Use Zone 2).
(1) 1 July – 14 July 2017
(2) 12 November – 09 December 2017
(3) 03 June – 30 June 2018
Amber Zone South-Eastern Corner (Defence Periodic Use Zone 1).
(1) 14 May - 30 June 2017
Amber Zone South-Eastern Corner (Defence Periodic Use Zone 2).
(1) 11 June – 30 June 2017
Green Zone (Defence Infrequent Use Zone)
(1) 11 June – 30 June 2017
Non-Defence users are encouraged to regularly review the exclusion period information published on the WPA Coordination Office website at: www.defence.gov.au/woomera.
