Anyone recently travelled between Tibooburra and Noccundra with a van? We are looking to head that way then to Mt Isa via Windora, Boulia etc. Igather most is sealed with some dirt.

Tibooburra to the Warri gate is now sealed, from Warri gate to around 10 maybe 15k from Noccundra is dirt. There is another 25k to be sealed this year , it may even be started by now.

Unsealed expect corrugations but it is ok if you take it easy. If you are 2WD make sure the roads are open before you go..

The dirt is very slippery after rain, its the red stuff that sticks to your tyres, and then you have issues staying on the road. Otherwise, no issues if in good condition, havnt travelled recentlysorry.,

Was up that way last year, so not relevant to your inquiry about current conditions, though generally it is an easy and enjoyable drive.
There is good free camping on the river about 100km south of Noccundra, and again on the Wilson River at Noccundra just over the road from the pub. No facilities at the first, but outside the pub there are toilets and coin-operated showers.

Thanks for the replies.
The road from Tibooburra to Warry Gate was completed in December. Brilliant.
The next 100kms were a mixture. Some places could do about 80kph others 60 and even 30!
We don't have an off-road van but it is learning!
Dropped tyre pressures by 30%.
Camped at Dingara creek for 3 nights as we loved it.
Second 100kms easy dirt but very dusty.
Staying in the free site at Eromanga which are great.
