Older CF55 with digital display that has had the fuse replaced for 12V operation. It worked well after that repair then the 240V power supply stopped working after another 6 months so I ran it on 12v with an adaptor for 240V.
Right on Xmas it was working as a freezer, I had to move it to another place so turned it off correctly and now nothing works except for the internal light. I'm guessing it needs a 240V board to fix that problem, any ideas for the 12V side. Could it be the fuse again?? It doesn't get used often but it needs to work for the times I do need it.

Could you list what you have already tried.
A lot of people put forward such a question then as the suggestions come in they say "no tried that already"

I haven't tried anything except for numerous on and off, changing to emergency, changing to high battery. It was working fine on Freeze down to -18c pushed the off button plugged into a new Power point and no go?

Does it light up at all?
I lnow my CFX sometimes resets its desired temp setting to a very hogh temp.
It might just need to be set back to -18.

The digital display does NOT light up at all. No compressor or fans. Only internal light comes on when lid is lifted. I can push the ON / OFF button all day without any luck. This Waeco has had little use so maybe that's another thing I should do, run it more often if I get it fixed. I believe electronics should be used.

I found a CF 30 litre, or their abouts label worn off, at the tip a few days ago, a bit battered, but the thing works on all powers. I stripped it down and tested it before I did "test" powering on it, so I can understand where you are coming from, This free fridge I have would have been and still is a great fridge. Most probably is the fuse. They are normally a hardy fridge

If the LED light in the fridge comes on when you plug it in to 240v, it's likely the 240v->12v is working.

I have the same fridge which exhibited similar symptoms, and it turned out to be the power switch. At the time there were no replacement switch panels available from Waeco, so I removed the panel and tested the power switch in place. It was found to be faulty, so I bought a similar surface mount switch from Jaycar for a couple of dollars and replaced it. It's worked well ever since.

That was about 10 years ago. As far as I know, replacement switch panels are all but impossible to obtain. However, there are a few copies of the fridge on the market nowadays, so sourcing a panel might be possible from one of those manufacturers.

Good luck.

LED internal light comes on only when I plug into the 12V side. 240V hasn't worked for a couple of years. I'm currently using a 240V - 12V adaptor to the 12V socket on the fridge. Adaptor is the Brass Monkey type from Jaycar.

Thanks Jarse, it was the main on/off switch.

Problem solved. It was the ON/OFF switch. it seems dodgy so a trip to Jaycar for replacement.
Thank you to Jarse.

Nice to get the problem solved, with all the knowledge hereabouts. There's usually somebody who can help.

Cheers

For anyone with the same issue, replacement sourced from Jaycar. 6mm Tactile PCB switch.
A few minutes with the soldering iron is needed. Cost $3.

Good work,
I had a similar problem with the up button in my CFX, was going to do what you did, maybe I still might have to, but I just took it apart to inspect for physical damage which was ok then thought Id try flushing it out with contact cleaner, hasnt missed a beat since, but I do think I havent fixed the problem, just prolonged it.
Its good to know the info you have supplied.
Thanks for the follow up
