ABR-Sidewinder and Autoelec were the companies I used for auto electrical gear. Autoelec are no more, I found ABR to be quick and reliable but I only purchased cable, terminals and associated hardware not electronic products.

Autoelec are no more

Bought a bit of gear off them over the years - guessing they've gone belly up ?

Autoelec have been taken over by tools.com. In recent years they had moved from selling well known brands at cheaper prices to purveyors generic gear of unknown quality.

Autolecau were an excellent small company based in Bairnsdale, with a shop in the main street. They used to sell on ebay, & were authorised re-sellers for a number of brands (eg.Redarc) . Very competitive prices & proper warranty - none of this return to seller nonsense.

Autolecau still sells on Ebay, I recently purchased a new TPMS from them..... which I received & which works as it should, but they still have their location stated as Bairnsdale, but in fact are now a very different company operating out of Melbourne, & in my case at least - drop shipping direct from the manufacturer. I believe they are a much larger company who bought out a number of established ebay companies to trade on their good reputations. It took close to two weeks for my recent order to be posted & I feel that continuing to say they are based in Bairnsdale as though they are the original Autoleacau is deceptive.

Have also bought from ABR-Sidewinder (Derek Bester) in the past. Some stuff was good, but some I thought lacked the quality I hoped for . (eg. non genuine Anderson Plugs & blade type circuit breakers).
