Hi All.
We are heading up North (Pilbara/Kimberley) in a month or so in a 2.0L Bi-Turbo Ford Everest, which uses AdBlue. Because we are towing, I am expecting that we will be chewing through quite a bit of AdBlue and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the availability (or not) of AdBlue either at roadhouses or towns (eg: Broome, Kununurra, etc) up that way?
Thanks in advance,
Cheers

Hello

One way to look yourself...

Open Google Maps on your computer (or your device of choice) - type in " adblue" as a search and service stations in the map area with adblue will be shown as red pins. Pan to other areas and click on "search this area" (option appears in top middle of screen when you pan) to update adblue locations in the map area shown.

Note: I have not investigated the accuracy of this method.

Cheers
Greg

Thanks Greg
I ran the search on Maps as you suggested and it does appear to work. For example, it showed Adblue being available at Caltex Denham - I gave them a call and they confirmed that they do have it in stock!

The Everest has an 18L Adblue tank, and a mate of mine who regularly tows a Jayco "Taj Mahal on wheels" quite often, has not yet filled his Everest's Adblue tank this year. Ford advise an Adblue range of 3,000-12,000km when towing. If in doubt you could always buy a full container to take with you. I understand that Adblue has a a fairly limited shelf life, particularly if kept inside a hot vehicle.

presume it has a fuel gauges for adblue tank ?

Most larger hi flow refuel points will have adblu amongst the bowsers.

Something you may need to be aware is that a few over zealous console operators won't activate the pump as its amongst the Hi flow pumps designated for Heavy vehicles - exception is one fot eh servos in midland near the old Bunnings site, often see newer 4wds topping up from that location

Don't carry a 20l spare as honestly they gouging you for the container well above the cpl from the pump which is well above the 200 cpl anyway

I have had a couple of servos not activate the Adblue pump until they were sure that we knew what we were doing. Said they had some dummies putting Adblue into their fuel tanks. Fair enough.

Our Audi uses adblue and doesn't have a gauge, it just starts warning you on the dash that you've got so many KMs left from around 2000 down.
Another thing, garages may have to give you a special attachment for the bowser spout or the adblue won't go in the tank as the handle on the spout just clicks before it flows.

I was recently in the Territory (5 days ago) and used 24 hour card only fuel fill. All had AdBlue for the trucks. So, those places will probably be ok. We used petrol spy and it saved us a lot of money. (Not affiliated in any way)

Just be wary using the truck hi-flow pumps to get access to the Adblue dispenser. I copped a mouthfull of abuse from a truckie in Vic even though my presence did not interfere with his access.

Hi Allan,

Was the “truckie” a Victorian? We are normally calm and serene down here. LOL.
