Looking to buy a Jayco 17.55 Journey, semi offroad. they only come with 14" 6 stud wheels and light truck tyres, so am wondering if anyone has fitted larger diameter rim/tyres, and what size. The axles are underslung.
just wan't to buy a little extra ground clearance!

Hi Eric, I'm not sure if you want to go to the expense or not, but years ago I changed my Caravan wheel stud pattern so they match the tow vehicle. That way my spares would fit either the car or van which just made sense to me. If you are going through the process of changing things, I think its worth the small extra cost for effectively doubling your spares. Tony

Hi Guys,

Not only the engineering, but also the wheel offset would need to be considered, as well as the wheel arch clearance.

that could be an option, but either way, as i've just found out, it would need to be re engineered, as the compliance plate states a specific wheel and tire size!
