QLD - Back to St George 2012

St George was the destination for the 2009 ExplorOz National Gathering.

Since that time there has been 3 Major Floods which have greatly affected the Community.

In support of the area being a great host during our National Gathering, why don't we return for a short period prior to Easter to spend some much needed tourism $$ in the area.

I will source a venue for us to camp, I would like those how register to attend to note what facilities they need so that I can determine which style of camping area to organise. As I have a few options to explore, ie free camp with no Facilities or areas with some facilities (Cost involved).

10 March 2012 update - I have available a free Camp with Flushing toilet and power. It is 10km from town and only 1.5km of that is unsealed (All weather Gravel). Dogs welcome
I'll MM attendees with the directions when numbers are confirmed.

19 March 2012 update - I am proposing that we stay in St George for possibly 2 nights then proceed to Bollon (Bruce to co-ordinate) where they too have been affected by Floods since we visited there in 2009 for Tuesday and Wednesday nights, camping on the banks of Wallam Creek.
I am unable to contact non members without having contact details ;)

I will slowly update this Gathering page with more details as I progress with the organisation of this Gathering.

We are waiting for a new van that was a month late from the factory in WA and now seems to be lost somewhere amoung the NSW floods. Time is running out for the dealer to do necessary work before delivery and then for us to get set up to travel. We will keep you posted. 5/3/12 It's looking better. The van is in Brisbane and delivery has been promised for 16th March. 16/3/12 We collected the van today so we are ready to join you all at St George. Sir Kev, will there be Next G coverade 10 km from town? I will need to crank the computer up to do some work.
