Information

The Ethel entered Investigator Straight 2 Jan 1904, a south-westerly and poor visibility forced the Barque off-course. As a consequence it passed too close to Cape Spenser and struck a reef. With a damaged rudder the sailing vessel was forced ashore.

you will also see the Steamer of the Ferret, that ran aground on the same beach 16 years later.
