Information

Mt Trio is aptly named for being a mountain top with 3 peaks. It's Aboriginal name Warrungup means "three become". The hike to the peaks of Mt Trio ascend steeply from the parking area via many steps to a saddle between the east peak and north peak. The track then follows a more gentle slope to the highest point (northern peak) at 856m. Excellent views can be enjoyed from the top during clear weather. Mt Trio is known for a proliferation during spring of the red mountain bells, a wildflower known as Darwinia lejostyla. More than 1500 species of flowering plants exist in the Stirling Ranges.
