Yardie Creek can be crossed by 4WD and only at low tide. The crossing is sandy and river is tidal so check local tide times or you will sit waiting for hours for waters to recede.
The track north of the crossing is accessible by 2WD vehicles and is within the
Cape Range National Park. Camping at designated sites and only with prior booking (often booked out a year ahead).
The track south of the crossing requires a 4WD vehicle due to sandy, corrugated tracks that lead to very soft sandy campsites such as Winderabandi Point, and other camping areas within the
Ningaloo Station camping zone and continues further along bumpy sandy tracks to
Coral Bay where the bitumen begins again.
