Beach access is generally good during the summer months & beach launching if you have a boat. Most locals use a tractor for launching but can be done with 4x4 if the tides are right. A word of warning don't stuff around when loading get the boat on the trailer & out of the water then have your beer & a chat etc, many a 4x4 has been bogged during retrieval. Also a good practice once boat is on trailer just back up a foot & then drive forward as a small mound of sand may be deposited in front of your tyres with the wave action.
At the North end of
Farm Beach, adj the car park area, there is a rough dirt road which leads to the beach where the invasion scenes in the movie Gallipoli were filmed. All of the trenches, sandbags and the dugouts have been removed & area has been returned to its natural state. The bay where the filming took place is now named Gallipoli Beach & is accessible via walking trail cut away in the
cliff.
