The Knob is 13kms south of
Cowell, and is a sheltered beach with nearby rocks and sandhills and good fishing. Thanks to
Franklin Harbour Council – they have cleared about 30 coastal
camp spots between
Cowell and
Arno Bay. This site is known as
the Knob Campsite and the others are all known as Beach Road.
A couple of pay stations are set up along Beach Road. Sites offer no facilities. Max stay 14 days. Signage warns that you must be self contained, as only one
campsite has a long drop
toilet.
