Camden is a historic town, the
seat of the
Macarthur region, named after
John Macarthur who founded Australia's wool industry in the area in the beginning of the 19th century.
Not so long ago Camden was a quaint rural village but in more recent times (since 2000) has begun to be enveloped by the sprawling
Sydney metropolis.
