Yarrangobilly Caves are situated in the northern part of Kosciuszko NP.
Access is via 6km of good gravel off the
Snowy Mountains Hwy. The access road is one way for the most part, so you exit
the caves via a different route to rejoin the highway south of the entry road.
Provisions are available from a
well-stocked
shop in the
visitor centre.
Very spectacular country all around. Self-guided
cave tour ($13 per person for adults, in addition to $3 per vehicle park use fee) is quite good and takes less than 30 min. You emerge above the
carpark from which you most likely started.
Note that there is no town of Yarrangobilly, just a locality, so we were fortunate to have fuelled up in
Adaminaby. No fuel at
Kiandra, either.
