Carnarvon Gorge Camping Area - QLD

This campground is one of two camping areas in the Carnarvon Gorge section of the Carnarvon National Park however the other one is a hikers camp only (Big Bend) so this is the only vehicle-based camping site.

This campground is only open during the Easter, June-July and September-October Queensland school holidays and is closed at all other times of the year. Max stay 5 nights. Book on-line or at an over-the-counter booking office early to avoid disappointment. You must book and pay for a camping permit before you arrive at camping area.

Suitable for campers with tents and camper trailers. Not suitable for caravans or large motorhomes (use Takarakka Bush Resort or Sandstone Park instead). Camp sites are laid out along 2 loops with taps, toilets and wheel-chair accessible picnic tables scattered through the area. Gas bbqs are located just outside the main camping area in the short term carparking area/picnic area.

Open campfires are not permitted at this campsite and generators are also not permitted.
Mobile phone service is limited and unreliable.
Take animal-proof sealable containers for rubbish (there is no rubbish collection/removal available).
