This
campground at the southern end of the
Crowdy Bay National Park is set in an open grassed area bordered by coastal banksia and angophora with a short walk through the trees and over dunes to Crowdy Beach.
Campsites are marked and bookings are required. Most are suitable for tents only. Limited sites are available for small caravans (under 15ft/4.6m), camper trailers and campervans..
There is a fireplace on each site - BYO firewood or buy a bag from the
Diamond Head site office (24km north, if you're coming that way). Gas BBQs (free) are also provided. There is no potable water so BYO, but there is a cold shower. Supplies are available at
Harrington (about 8km)
Access off the Pacific Hwy is via
Harrington, then
Crowdy Head Rd then Crowdy Bay Rd. If you're coming through the park from the northern campgrounds, follow
Diamond Head Rd and 18km past
Diamond Head campground turn left at Crowdy Bay Rd then drive another 6km to the
campground.
