Eddie "Jolly" Miller Rest Area - QLD

Located beside channels of the Georgina River, this spacious rest area commemorates Eddie "Jolly" Miller who was a legendary local mailman back in the "old" days.A now badly faded sign used to tell the story of his exploits which were similar in many ways to the story of the Birdsville Track mailman.
The only facility at the site is a good sized picnic shelter, very welcome on hot days.A concrete bridge carries the road over the channel. The old low level crossing can still be seen next to the bridge.
