This is the turn into the
Midway Bore and Handpump - NOT
MIDWAY WELL (that intersection is 500 metres west). If travelling from the east along the Talawana, this is the first intersection you will come to. The track to
Midway Well is 500 metres further west (see EO
places). This turn is marked with two old 44 gallon drums. The turn to
Midway Well is not. There are no signposts at either intersection.
A sand track of good condition takes you the seven kilometres to the
bore site where there is an old
water tank (U/S) and windmill. A handpump has been fitted at the base of the windmill which produces great quality drinking water (August 2015).
There is very little firewood about the site or along the track in so if intending to spend a night here, you'd best pick up a bit along the Talawana prior to arriving.
