Held annually at the Harts Range Racecourse, is the ‘Harts Range Bush Sports Weekend’ aka ‘Harts Range Races’. The NT August Picnic Races Public Holiday stem from this 60 year old tradition started at the Harts Range Racecourse, 215km East of
Alice Springs on the
Plenty Highway.
Gate entry: Adults: $15 per head for one day, $30 per head for 2+ days.
Camping Fee: $10 per car, Children: under 16 are free. Camping facilities are provided – showers and toilets.
Bring your own swag and firewood.
BBQ’s are allowed.
Catering is available courtesy of the
Alice Springs Branch of ICPA-steak sangers,hot food, drinks, sandwiches, ice-creams, lollies. No alcohol is sold over the weekend – BYO only; however there will be ice available.

2015 – Saturday 1st August, Sunday 2nd August, Monday 3rd August.
2016 – Saturday 30th July, Sunday 31st July, Monday 1st August.
2017 – Saturday 5th August, Sunday 6th August, Monday 7th August.
2018 – Saturday 4th August, Sunday 5th August, Monday 6th August.
2019 – Saturday 3rd August, Sunday 4th August, Monday 5th August.
Over 2 days of fun for all the family. Stock-horse Races, Rodeo, Gymkhana, Sports events including Running Races, Novelty Races for kids, Lizard Race, Ladies Cow Tail Toss, Tug of War and Jumping Castle for the little ones.
Just behind the racecourse a track leads south for about 10km and finally reaches the base of a few impressive mountains, the highest being Mt Palmer. Mt Palmer is known as a summit hike for the experienced. It will take about 2 hours to reach
the summit but on the way you can explore open gaps left by mica miners and soak up the impressive
views.
