Left
home this morning and travelled through
Orange, Forbes and down the Newell to West Wyalong then onto Ranking Springs where I intended to stay the night in the caravan park and have a big steak at the pub. (it came highly recommended)
Well the pub was closed, it was reining and there wasn't much else happening in town so I drove onto
Griffith. Raining here too so scaled the idea of pitching then tent and found a cheap motel room out of town attached to the Coro Club. Very clean and neat and a very very short walk for a beer.
The day has had its moments. I have caught the flu which given I haven't had for 4 years was a bit of a downer for the first day of the trip. Don't know why I had the flu injection. Anyway up early in the morning and then onto
Mildura and then onto
Adelaide to pick up my wife Louise before the rap trip starts. I know the country needs the rain but I hope it is not raining up in the centre. I must say the country west of
Orange is looking good and it seems that they have had good rain since I was last though 6 months ago. It is indeed beautiful country when it is green.
No photos today but that will come.
Anyway I think I will toddle off for a beer or two and dinner and get an early start in the morning and maybe do a bit of exploring on the way to
Mildura.
I am starting to enjoy this retirement caper.
