A few days ago, someone contacted me via the Help Desk to query why they were having troubles using the "search" function in the Forum.

He was looking for information on "Binn's Track" as he knew he'd seen a post put couldn't find it again. The search gave some results, but not the one he was looking for.

I explained that by using the apostrophe meant the search would only find matches to "Binn's" but not "Binns" - and as it turned out the original title of the post did not use the apostrophe. As soon as he changed his search and removed the apostrophe, it found the post he was after.

Just sharing this tip to help you think outside the box when things don't turn out as you expect.

Sometimes if you can't find what you want, or think is there, it works to use Google and include the forum name as part of the search, as Google is more forgiving of spelling variations. When I was working and doing a literature search I would often find that Google did a better job than specialist search tools.
