Hi there,
I've googled till I went cross eyed, and I can't find anything. Does anyone know if Ida Valley Station is operational and if so, do you have contact details for them?
Thanks.

On Hema Maps I found Mt Ida and this info and on the map aprox 100ks north on the Lawlers Mt Ida Rd "Ida Valley" with a black dot which I assume is a station.
Hope this is of some use

Thanks, yeh I'm trying to see if the station is actually operational, as I would like to get permission to go through their station to get to a certain point, but I can't seem to find any contact details for the station. Otherwise I'll just stop in and see how I go when I'm out that way.

Hello

Did you ring DBCA as suggested in the previous thread you posted on this exact same subject?

Previous Ida Valley Thread December 2020

Cheers
Greg

PS: you should have posted this question in the older thread as it is still active (i.e. hasnt been archived) - now we have two active threads on the same subject by the same person. Can get confusing.

Yep been in touch with DBCA who weren't much use, but Landgate were fantastic in regards to the boundary of the reserve which is what I was originally after and that's all sorted now.

I'm now trying to gain access from the East instead of the West through the station if possible.

Hello

I had a look at the Mines Department website and from what I can figure there is no current Ida Valley Pastoral Lease or nature reserve created from the Pastoral Lease (unless part of the Bulga Downs one).

There appears to be an Ida Valley Homestead - but that is in the Sturt Meadows pastoral lease so maybe contact them - I have two numbers - no idea if they are current - T : 90375910 T: 90375991

But I must say -without seeing a map of the areas you want to traverse its hard to figure out who you should be contacting.

Cheers

The following may assist although I believe they no longer give out the telephone numbers.

When prospecting on a pastoral lease, you must take all reasonable and practical steps to notify the pastoralist about where you plan to operate and for how long.

You can obtain the address, telephone and fax numbers and email address of pastoralists by contacting any of the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety's (DMIRS) Mining Registrar offices. This is the only authoritative source for this information and is only released under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding between DMIRS and the Department of Lands.

thanks everyone, I'll try as suggested.

I'm not prospecting, we are just exploring, doing some following of John Forrest expedition which is within the boundaries of this nature reserve. Basically wanting to explore the Ida Valley-Mt Forrest conservation reserve. Photo of the time I entered from the West and just went up to Mt Forrest. The old image I found when it was a proposed reserve, which Landgate have confirmed these boundaries for me. And as I'm coming from the East of the reserve, would like to try and enter it from Ida Valley homestead side, if possible.

Ok - that confirms the pastoral lease you need to contact is Sturt Meadows (if you head straight west from Ida Valley HS. Perrinvale Pastoral Lease runs along the southern boundary of the Reserve.
