I wish you could do the route planning on a computer and then send it to the tablet for route traveling.
It would be so much easier to look around on a big screen and pick points of interest to add to the trip. Then flip it across to the tablet so you can take it along to guide you.

You can. Go to the Windows store and get the app for your computer. Your ExplorOz account stores the route you're planning (in your User ID) so when you open the app on another device you can download it and use it from that device.

Also you can use the Website to see the map (either go to EOTopo, or go to Places - where you can open the map). But the website doesn't have the navigation tools like the app. You need the Windows version if you want the app features on a computer.

Hi Michelle, Do I need to buy another copy to have the app on a windows machine and on an iPad. Or is there some way I can download one for the home computer?

Windows and Apple are two separate platforms so yes they will each charge a fee for the licence to download the app. It's only $60 for the app - that's not much for the confidence it gives you. Having reliable maps and navigation is a critical part of your trip and you wouldn't hesitate to spend that on a slab of beer, half a tank of fuel, or one night in a caravan park.
