Hi guys,

We recently purchased a Cub Camper Supamatic 1998 model (see pic for similar model). Wondering if anyone has layed Vinyl Planks on the inside floor? Not sure about adding too much weight by doing this. Other option is to install new vinyl (rolled out) instead, but prefer the look of planks.

Thanks in advance!
Scott

My dad installed vinyl planks in his motorhome and is now having to rip them out. Over time they seem to shrink slightly and move, leaving gaps in between the planks. Although they are easier to install, they really didn't last all that long at all and have not been good.

We have a 1995 Off Road model which we purchased in 2008. We still have the original vinyl in the Kitchen /sleeping area and it has lasted well. Our lower floor is still the original fibreglass and does the job well.
As a matter of interest to you I have also added a winch to mine to make it easier to open & close. We have travelled well over 20,000kms with our cub and enjoy it.
I also have a caravan that has doe over 70,000 ks since buying it in 2002.

Don't use the planks, I have seen them a number of times curled up on the edges so you end up with a lot of trip hazards everywhere. If its just for the look there are heaps of roll-out vinyl that looks like timber planks. Its actually amazing how good some of the viny floors look these days.
