Hello everyone.
I am new to 4wding and very keen to do some outback trips. Recently bought myself a LC76 and off road camper trailer.
Instead of just picking a destination and heading there I am keen on people or companies that tour with you and explain the area and the history.
Must be self drive though as half the fun and enjoyment for me is the driving.
Not fussed if they drive their own car or jump in
mine.

Sohan, there are lots of companies offering
tag along tours. Great Divide Tours is one that you might like to look at and see if that’s what you’re after.
And the disclaimer, I have no financial interest in GDT.

I've been with Beadell Tours twice on expeditions in '16 and '17. Booked to go this year but all tours cancelled, so hoping to go next year. Only a small group 5 or 6 vehicles per tour. Very informative, great discussions around the
camp fire every evening of the history - early
explorers, Aboriginal history re
rock art etc. Most tours include the Western Deserts. These are 'tag-a-long' tours and you must be self sufficient with food, fuel etc..
No financial interest etc..

Sohan
An alternative to a tag along type tour is to ask here for like minded people who wish to travel at same time with a couple of others in their vehicles, ie, no large group. You are then not restricted to exactly what the organized group is going to do and can learn from those who have travelled previously in similar terrain. The features of exploroz provides plenty of info of out there
places. Do that research beforehand for background info and points of interest.

Another good company is 4x4 Moon Tours. They do deserts and
Cape York etc.
We travelled with Trent Moon etc along the
Madigan Line (
Simpson Desert) last year and it was fabulous.

Again .. no financial interest. Just a very happy and satisfied customer.

Sohan let me give you another option. Why not join a 4WD club? You will get low cost 4WD training, the opportunity to go on club trips where you can put that training into practice as
well as learning more about your 4WD and how to recover it as
well as tow with it.
Once you have gained some experience in a safe and supportive environment you may feel more confident in heading off on our own. Or even leading club trips as you become more experienced.
Most 4WD clubs go to all the
places the tour operators go.
I can't see where you live but if in SA then Pindan Training and Tours are very good
