Has anybody looked into the class action against Toyota for Hilux, Fortuner & Prado for diesel engines between 1/10/2015 & 23/4/2020

I do believe they are offering free change over dpf systems.

Toyota are now offering a 10 year warranty from your original purchase date, covering the DPF, 5th injector etc on these vehicles, and they are also doing a free changeover for anyone who has had problems.
I've had
mine done - new DPF, injector, installation of DPF burn display and a the addition of a manual burn switch.
I'm sure the class action will go ahead, but have to say that in 12 years of owning Hiluxes (including this issue on my current model) I have found Toyota good to deal with - including a courtesy vehicle while the work was being done.

We had our own class action at work. We have finally had all of our 2015 /16 hiluxs swapped for new 2020’s. We could prove we have spent more in downtime than each unit was worth. As for service - this is the first and only car manufacturer we’ve had to take legal action against to get what we paid for. We were taken for fools for 4 years. Each car had 30+ forced regens, 4 new dpfs, multiple limp
home events from dust on the maf sensor, etc etc.
I feel sorry for a private owner stuck with a 2015/16.

Its a pity Toyota won't do anything about the standard factory air cleaner housing by passing dust & allowing it to enter the engine on the 200 series V8 diesels.
