Does anyone know which way the +ve and -ve wires go int the "DC In" plug on the back of the radio as it's not shown in the instruction manual. There is a square hole and a round hole to press the wires into. I don't want to assume (ASS/U/ME). Help would be appreciated .

Fred,

Pressing wires into holes doesn't sound like a normal installation to me. Looking at the on-line manual, those square and round holes looks like a socket. In the box was there no matching plug with red and black wires attached?

Failing help here you could try to contact Oricom tomorrow.

Cheers

I also thought it was strange... Finally found a separate piece of paper and plug hidden in the bottom of the packaging.. so all good. Thanks

Is it the base on the set you are referring to OR the actual plug which fits into the base, ie, the one with wires and connector pins on the wires?

I haven't looked at an Oricom set but both my GME radios use such a base and plug, with those the ROUND sleeve section with wire pin inside it is +ve and the SQUARE side is negative. The plug fits into bound and square recesses in the base on set back. The set should be, should be, reverse polarity protected anyway, but maybe not if corners cut in manufacture.
