LED PROBLEM

We purchased a new van a couple of weeks ago.. there is one annoying glitch..sometimes when you hit the igniter on the stove it turns on one of the leds.. if the light is on sometimes it will turn it off.. last night it was on and we lit the stove and the led went on for a few seconds then off repeatedly until we turned the 12 volt off to stop it???? Same light every time.. faulty light???

Is it a Jayco van with the absolutely fantastic, "triffic" J HUB stuff by any chance?. If so it may be a fault in the BMpro and if the lights are, press on press off, the igniter may be somehow toggling that light power switching, on and of, or pulsing it. Push/press electronic switches are a change of state of the electronic switch and the igniter may be interfering with it.

AH, that is a bit different. It still might be the radio frequency of the igniter is being picked up by the wireless light though. Although called a wireless light it works off a radio frequency signal to turn it on and off. Is it possible to swap the light positions and see if the other one behaves the same in that position? Just to work out if it is too close to igniter or light unit faulty. There may also be some electrical feed back harmonics from the igniter to it's power feed and then to the Sphere controller, which in turn operates the lights. A filter capacitor may be required across the 12v power feed connections to the Sphere.

Thanks again.. that does make some sense to me.. really think that just good old on/off switches is adequate for someone that is no 20 anymore..

Being a new van , have you contacted the sellers. It would be warranty wouldn’t it.

Yep definitely a warranty issue. No problems there. Just trying to get an idea of what the problem may be.

Although a warranty issue, the caravan mob are not electronic or electricians in anyway so may not even recognize the possibility of the problem. It is a bit more techo than a trailer plug with a colour code. You may have to convince them with a few previously unknown concepts.
